Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be an experienced yogi to join a retreat?

Not at all! Whether you have never practiced before or you have been practicing for years, you’ll find the yoga welcoming and accessible. We host variety of classes on each retreat - power yoga, vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, restorative yoga, and yoga nidra. We incorporate hands on assists and reiki into all of our classes.

Is participation in all retreat activities mandatory?

While we encourage full participation to give you the best retreat experience and group relationship, participation in each activity is not mandatory. This is your retreat, your time. We just ask that you inform us in advance which activities you will not be joining.

Will you match me with a roommate?

We do not find and match roommates for guests. Sharing a room can be an intimate experience and we want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible.

Do you require travel insurance?

Travel insurance is mandatory for almost every retreat; we can help with recommendations.

Are payment plans available?

Yes! While you always have the option to pay in full, payment plans are very popular. Each retreat has a different schedule based on its time of year and the length of time before the retreat.

What is your cancellation policy?

Each retreat has its own cancellation policy, which will be outlined in your booking contract. These include specific timeframes and eligibility for refunds, so you will always know what to expect.

Will allergies and/or dietary restrictions be accommodated?

We take food allergies extremely seriously and will always ensure they are accommodated. We do our very best to accommodate dietary preferences and lifestyles. Food is something we care deeply about at Northstar and will always make sure it is safe and delicious!

What if I don’t know anyone? Can I still join the retreat?

Definitely! We frequently have retreat guests who come on their own, without knowing other participants. One of the best parts, for us, is to see different relationships and bonds form over the course of a retreat. Sharing meals, new experiences, and our practice really lend themselves to authentic-and sometimes unexpected-connection and friendship.
